"No Penguin"

I like penguins and anything with a penguin picture on it will catch my attention. Saw this "no penguin" sign on a styrofoam cooler one day, and found out it means "Refrigerate - do not freeze". This is not the easiest to understand, but very cute!

Visited Mill Pond last weekend and saw this beautiful pair of swans. However, I did not have my camera with me. I took this picture with my iPhone.

Early spring

Had a nice walk at Mill Pond after lunch today! I enjoyed the warm early spring sun - the ducks and geese probably enjoyed the sun as much as I did!

Pan-fried Halibut

Did another cooking experiment on Saturday: tried to follow the recipe but changed the fish to Halibut, and the green vegetable to bok choi. The final product looks somewhat similar to that in the cook book, but the taste might differ a lot...

Mill Pond in the fall

Same spot in winter

Visited Mill Pond in winter for the first time on Family Day! Surprised to see so many people on the ice playing hockey and skating. Walked on the ice and took this picture. Can't wait to see Mill Pond in Spring!

Leek, potato and haddock soup

Wanted to make something special for tonight's dinner, so tried a recipe from Gordon Ramsay's cookbook. Used my blender for the first time as well. Two inexperienced cooks took 2 hours to make this. The soup turned out ok. The presentation also resembled the one in the cookbook! The only thing I would change next time is the amount of curry powder - it is a little to spicy to our taste.

My collection of turtles. From top to bottom: Toby, Peekaboo, Speedster, and Speedy. Peekaboo and I have the same birthday (it was born in 2000 - will be 10 years old soon!)

Took 2 quick shots in downtown Toronto from the car at 7:30 am last Saturday. I would not be in downtown Toronto at this hour if it was not for the shopping trip to Buffalo!
